On Thursday, January 15, Steel Warriors 2026 kicked off with its first jury day, uniting secondary schools from across Belgium in a national metalworking and welding competition. Fifteen schools compete to showcase their technical skills, creativity, and precision.
A Challenge in Steel and Craftsmanship
The students faced one clear task: to design and build a functional and aesthetic steel construction. During the jury day, they presented their projects and step-by-step plans to a professional jury composed of experts and specialists from the metal industry.
Behind the Scenes at LVD Group
The event was hosted by LVD Group in Wevelgem, where students not only presented their projects but also received an exclusive tour of the production and innovation departments. They got a firsthand look at technological innovations in the metal sector and experienced modern metalworking in practice. The day also provided an opportunity for students from different schools to network and share experiences.
Pride and Talent in the Spotlight
Steel Warriors is more than a competition. Belmetal aims to boost students’ confidence and pride, inspire young people to pursue careers in the technical metal sector, and bring companies closer to emerging talent. It is a unique platform where students learn that welding and metalworking require precision, technology, and teamwork.
